unfortunately one of the sites I look after have bought a xenforo license and wish to migrate all the current cotonti (0.9.11) data to this new site.

I'm not much of a coder so don't stand a snowball in hell's chance of writing a competent converter for this purpose.  Currently from what I can find I can use a series of converters to do the following:  Cot > SMF > PHPBB > XenForo

The Cot to SMF converter is actually seditio > SMF.  Are there any massive differences on how users/forums/messages are referenced in Cotonti when compared to Seditio that I need to be aware of?

Thanks

I guess that you can just look at the table structure of both seditio and cotonti and tell by yourself.

In your place I would not use so many converters. Just modify a chosen converter (look at the first one and the last one and merge them) and try importing directly to xenforo.

You might have some problems with users, I would just assign them new passwords - if you used Siena after security upgrade. If they have still md5 passwords then it should not be much of a problem.

Yes, it would be better to convert direct from seditio to target system. Otherwise you may loose a lot of data with several conversions queue.

Best way to try your skills first on a clean install of Cot with some test topics and users.

Pretty much your going to have to do something like you described or pay someone to help you do it.

Being on 0.9.11 The changes between seditio and cotonti are very drastic. There is no likely hope of getting it to work without drastic changes. It would likely be farm more simple to just make one from scratch to Cot > XenForo
