Some Content Management Systems such as SMF have the ability for users to dump/export/import their complete database from within the administration panel.

I noticed you guys were discussing a feature suggested by Gert, that would allow downloading and installing extensions via the admin panel.
This obviously is a different thing, but I could imagine it to fit in the same 'feature-category'.

Just an idea!

This can be implemented quite easily as an admin tool. Basically it would mimick phpMyAdmin export, although we might want to add some custom import/export syntax such as JSON. It could also be extended to include /datas, in order for it to become a full site backup.

This reminds me of T3 DbTools plugin for Seditio by Tefra. Nowadays I think mimicking phpMyAdmin is quite a waste of time. I'd recommend using Sypex Dumper plugin instead.

May the Source be with you!

Plugin description in English was below Russian. I've swapped them for now.
