I want to know what changes are made for plugins... / hooks etc...

Will my 'old' plugins be compatible with 0.9... ???

And if NOT what will be the main changes.. I would like to know what is coming in the new Siena..
I mean for me as a plugin builder.

Thnx

We ALL need to know how to rewrite plugins, cause many of us are "home plugin makers" for our personal websites...

And, as I wrote as comment to the advice in Home Page:

donP:
Good and bad news together...

The good:
HTML as primary markup language (with HTML purifier) and WYSIWYG-capable editor.

The bad:
Massive changes from 0.6 in core & API changes (I'm thinking to my dozens of personal-made plugins that are fundamental for my community website and wich I'll have to rewrite from scratch).

Considering these factors I'd be glad if we can have the good one (HTML) in a first step, in some days, and the "bad" one (core & API changes) when Siena 0.9 would be finally released...

I'd really like to have the ability for a "modular" migration...

We don't have final specifications for 0.9 and we won't have such at least until these changes are implemented. But I want you to know that we are well aware of that many people have their own "home made plugins" and that changing the APIs without leaving backwards compatibility bridges would cut off existing sites from updates.

On the other hand, if we don't make these changes, there will be no modularity, no SEO, no advanced developer tools and libraries, no i18n, no 1.0 and Cotonti will die at the stage of 0.6.
May the Source be with you!
