I have about 30 people signed up on my website most of them are at the member rank, I want the new people who sign up on the website to go directly to a "trial" rank instead of the "member" rank. Is there anyway I could change the default rank for new people, or do I have to manually switch all the members correct this?

There is currently no way to switch default group. A plugin could do this, but maybe an easier method for you would be to rename the default group to trial, then create a new group for members ?

I was thinking about doing that, but I just wanted to make sure there wasn't another way to do it before I switch 20 different ranks. I appreciate your quick response though.

You wouldn't have to change all their ranks. Just rename the members group in the group admin section to "Trial" and then create another group above that one titled "Members".
You would only have to change the groups when they met whatever criteria you have for becoming an actual member. |
