Let them edit a page but save the previous version until an admin validates

I have a request and I hope someone is willing to make it for me. I am willing to pay for the work done. We can discuss the details in private.
It should be for Sienna but maybe it can already be made for Genoa (latest version) as well?

What I am looking for is a module which allows a member, if he is part of a certain group, to edit only his own pages and sent them in for validation. But not only that, until an admin publishes the page the previous version of the page should be saved so if a user screws up the page the admin can simply use the old page again. This way you do not loose all the info that was on the page in case an author makes a mistake and deletes it all.

In the past there was a plugin for seditio which allowed people to edit their own page (eyoop?) and I would like something similair as well. But with the difference the users has to be part of a certain group and the original page needs to be saved until an admin validates. Also this is for a large website so performance is important as well as security!

I have really no idea how much work this is but like I said, I am willing to pay someone who is up to the task. There should be enough time for you to make it as the deadline would be around the end of Q2 2013. But that too can be discussed.

I hope someone can do this and does not mind earning some extra cash :)

Users being able to edit their own pages (formerly eyoop) has been under the hood since cotonti 0.0.2 I think. This is what "W" permission on the page category for a user group is responsible for.

What is missing is page editing history. There was Wiki plugin for genoa which Kilandor made for this site and it had the history of edits and you could revert things back if something went wrong. I would like to see such a plugin for Siena too.

May the Source be with you!

Ahhh, I did not know that. But thats a good thing as that could make things a little easier. I am in contact with someone about this, so I hope he is able to add the "page editing histor" feature to this. This really should be a good addition as it allows your users to interact with the site better/easier but you still have control over the content.
