i know this is kinda spamming the forum
but it is not unimportant enough to not post it!

mediaBay will have a watermark function!
mediaBay will have different watermark sizes for thumbnails!
mediaBay can add the watermark directly into the image without modifying the original!

how do you like that?

Well not sure what "mediaBay" is but, Sorry but nothing special. I run a website for a photographer that takes photo's for a local race track. And I have a script that takes a watermark image and fits it properly onto any image.

Its actually very simple to watermark an image with php

Yep. It can even be generated live so you could have an ever-changing watermark applied to the image each time someone views it...

Looking good though.

@kilandor
i know www.thepiratebay.org, we had the same discussion because of the usergal logo the last time ;)
wanted to make it more obvious this time. i think this is just an iconico and no trademarked logo or something.

sure its easy, but i thought the idea to have different sized watermarks for images quite cool.
the large logo was quite too large for the thumbnails. and with the small "skull" it just gets the kick the others dont have ;) and btw maybe its making cotonti more interesting for more commercial users.*

@lombi
the thing is that the watermark is generated live. so it gets only applied when the image is displayed.
think thats what you meant...

*i think cotonti laks here and there to mass-media compabillity making it not so interesting for huge project sites. but such small thing here and there as well as your changes to the core make the difference in a long term view. btw seditio just got his greatest boost ever becomming cotonti

That's true. We need a proper gallery system.

How will you handle video? Transcoding or just embedding?

yeah the thing is that i actually would like to transcode them but think that just embedding the right player here and there would be enough for the first release. but i really like to transcode them serverside later on.

I have the code for transcoding and creating a thumbnail if you'd like to use it. Never got to implement it anywhere, at least not yet.

I also have a developer licence for the titanium video player so we could make our own cotonti players. Just throwing it out there.

interesting. maybe urlkiller and i should work together and combien some work or something.

atm my gallery supports watermarks. and video playback, embedding, transcoding etc.

it will display files in list view or gallery view type as well as folders.

That would be nice to see. At least since you're both going in the same direction where Elgan's original MediaLibrary has been for two years now.

Let's make one awesome media plugin!
