Maybe try to make a new list.CAT.tpl

For the arrows:

Search for:

<div class="pagnav">{LISTCAT_PAGEPREV}{LISTCAT_PAGNAV}{LISTCAT_PAGENEXT}</div>

and change it into

<div class="pagnav">{LISTCAT_PAGEPREV}{LISTCAT_PAGENEXT}</div>

Or delete the {LISTCAT_PAGNAV} in it.

Not sure about this.
