I had a quick look.... I am using the 'standard' function from Cotonti to do this.
It is located in base.js

// Inserts text into textarea at cursor position
function insertText(docObj, formName, fieldName, value)

SO you must have this behaviour in Cotonti as well....

Finished !!!

Now you can see how many ppl are watching the chat... (on index, and per room in the ezchat screen)
And Guests can even input an alias name.

So it is almost done ! (some more testing.. and tweaking..)
