Foren / Cotonti / Support / Cotonti installation problems

I recently decided to download and install this CMS on my website because I had a good experience using seditio before, and I found out that it eventually turned to this (or stop being supported, something among those lines) and from the looks of what I've seen I really like how this has grown!

I'm having problems with the file permissions however:

I continue to get this error. Yet I keep checking "777" on the file permissions.

If I check the folder datas/cache, a folder named templates does not exist. 

I figured out that my folders weren't set to "777" until I got the error once the installation was complete. Was this the problem.
