Hi All,

For about 2 days now, my website runs really slow when I'm logged in.  Roundtrip for a single page load is around 12 seconds.  When I'm not logged in, the pages load super fast.  I've noticed that the number of hits on the site is now 10x what it used to be so something is definitely going on.   If it was a ddos attack then even when I'm not logged in the website should be really slow, but it's not.  It's only slow when I'm logged in.  This really has me puzzled.  Any ideas?

Thanks!

  • Can you post a link to your site?
  • What version of Cotonti you are using (how long ago it's updated lasat time)?
  • What settings of cache and what cache driver you use?
  • Listing of `phpinfo();` output also be useful (does it updated last time?).

For further testing you can do this:

  1. You can check actual of DDos by your hoster internal logs or at least by common webpage stat like google analytics.
  2. Check with browser web tools for process of resource loading (like CSS, JS, graphics, stat counters and so). Some of them can slow down loding of other.
  3. The behaviour of logged-in and guest user can differ by cache mechanics or by list of actualy used extensions. Try to flush out internal (DB) and file cache.
  4. You can enable Debug mode on switch on site SQL statistic listing. That way you can check for internal slowdown if so.
  5. Also check this behaviour with another user logged in.
