RE http://www.apollo101.co.uk

Hi,

I had a problem a few weeks ago with the admin.php of my cotonti install. It would basically flag up a load of errors with xtemplate.php every time I tried to get into my admin panel. I tried restoring the default skin, as many default files related to it as possible. In the end, it only worked when I deleted the whole install and did a fresh upload.

I left it without using the admin functions for a few weeks, now I try to go back into the admin panel and I'm getting the same type of error message. I tried searching for a solution before but couldn't really find anything. Any ideas?

Attached is the error message :

INSTALL.TXT:
7. There are a number of catalogs that you need to change the write access to (CHMOD).
This can easily be performed trough your FTP software.
The directories that needs to be changed is:

/datas/cache/ (and all its subfolders)
/datas/defaultav/
/datas/avatars/
/datas/photos/
/datas/signatures/
/datas/thumbs/
/datas/tmp/
/datas/users/

You can change the rights by right clicking on the catalogue name and select properties.
Then you get the following screen, and can change the rights to 0777.

What version of cotonti do you have?

Is it possible that the problems started after an upgrade?
Does the standard skin have the same problems?

Does your skin have the follow directories:
- admin
- plugins

If not check them with the default skin sed-light.

Added 1 minute later:

Also at http://www.apollo101.co.uk/list.php?c=articles you can see that the ratings are not OK.

And if I delete my admin-dir in the skin.I get the same error as you.

See upgrade-guide for upgrading your skin: http://www.cotonti.com/docs/en/skins/Skin-convert-065
... can we help you ...

Admin & plugin folders are missing completely, and the skin is built by themegenerator. So what do you expect? :) Should chmod folders properly.

fixed... forgot about CHMOD (amongst other things... first time with PHP :( making elementary mistakes)

my apologies... thanks for the advice. Will trawl through the skin trying to make it fully compliant (and more aesthetically pleasing).

Cheers
