I have noticed how cotonti user rights not are based on the category, but the forums within categories. Is there a simple way to bypass this and hide a category to a user which has no visible threads within that forums?

I'm scratching my hair off.
Quite a Cotonti newbie, but with some basic php/programming experience i'we been going at it by myself without any progress. Can't find any similar threads to find comfort in either.
