yes, it works like this, all u have to do is make custom tpl file in main skin dir, i.e. if ur category (admin.php?m=page&s=structure) has code: "tutorials", all u have to do is name it:

page.tutorials.tpl / list.tutorials.tpl (remember to asign it in the options of that category, prety simple :)
