Sounds a bit tricky. The standard RSS module respects standard permissions given on pages/categories via Admin / Rights. You can either plug into that, or into the RSS module itself. Or make your own fork.

I'm building a website for a podcast show that offers free episodes and paid membership. I was wondering if it was possible to have a second RSS feed that only includes pages that are for a certain user group so they are password protected on an individual user basis (ie: I do not give out one set password that can be shared to non paying users) for distribution via Itunes and other RSS services, or do I need to write a new module if it is actually possible?

Cheers,

Luke.
