In the upload screen you can have 4 uploads running simultane.... with cancel upload features..

The upload screen will automatically update (with AJAX) the file list..
The checkboxes in the filelist... check a few... press delete files... and the list (not the screen) will update and will remove the lines.
Everything I build is AJAX.. so no screen refreshes... only small parts.

I managed to find some time to restart on myfiles...
And I made some really nice progress on the backend part, If I can continue like this, maybe.. maybe.. I can present something before christmas (R1).
(This release will have basic looks, but it will be fully functional)

after so many months some informations.

leo and me are currently very busy designing some specs on a big project. so we are kinda busy with that instead of building a pfs replacement system.

BUT i have done some quick mash with ckedit and elfinder and i will release that instead. (this is a experimental version that still has some bugs in it but it can be used to work with.) (test it first and make backups!!!)

i have to mentions that this system uses real folders on the harddrive of the server. so it may is some work to use it on a live site, better start with a fresh installation.
i can give limited support on this plugin and iam only releasing that to keep our promise that we are actually working on the system.

there are some informations you may need:

  • in /doc/ you find a htaccess file wich you can copy in your datas folder to prevent excecution of php files.
  • upload filesize cant set in settings and need to be set in php.ini
  • it just replaces existing tags so you dont need to change that
  • it is not a final version it was just a quick one to test some things regarding our newly designed pfs system
  • i personaly wouldnt recommend to use it on live sites with multiple users using the pfs.
    (though iam using it on some pages i did but in "public storage mode" where all users use the same dir to upload)
  • folders need to be created manualy (i havnt implemented that yet)
  • IMPORTANT !! - you have to uninstall the ckedit plugin before!!!

 

Generally i have to say iam open to any suggestions but dont except some bugfixing soon. i will concentrate more on the development with leo than working on this plug.
i can help you with installation and try to answer questions to that plugin as fast as i can. as i said it should be a quick temporarily replacement that is better than the current one.

I have been really busy with myfiles.. And a lot of structural things are already finished.
So some hard parts are done...

Finished:
Uploading files (I used ezpfs plug as a base, but i cleaned it up a lot)
Folder add screen
Folder structure coding (backend database stuff and subfolder structure)

Next:
- Extra folder info in the 'mini' folder browser (for details about the selected folder)
- Folder edit
- File edit
- And the nice ones for last... the browsing of your files (so listmode and graphical mode)

Here is a small sneak preview... (what is already finished AND working)

BTW, just had another idea.
Is it possible to add Alphabetical filters to the PFS? Why you ask me?
Well, for example I have 478 folders with 14553 files and per page 15 listings. Meaning using the pagination to move to a folder which starts with the letter "L" while I have 48 folders with that letter sometimes is "a lot of work" if you know what I mean.

Also for the files it might be handy, everything is listed in alphabetic order but when you have a lot of files you might have to click a lot.
I realise this might not be a wanted standard feature as not everyone has a big PFS, so maybe some kind of plugin for this plugin.

In the lists you can also sort by Title, Hits, Date and Author. So maybe sorting possibilities like this for the PFS is a welcome suggestion?
Just an idea, dont burn me if you dont like it. :-)

I know youre situation...
In the specs I say some things about this conversion.. It will take a lot of effort to develop & test.
But FIRST we have got to make this plug.. !!!
Of course, that is the most important. It was my own mistake to not enable it when we started the site. I will keep following this plugin development closely of course and hope its will be like you say here:

Maybe everybody will love this new plug (We hope so), that we can get a lot of help to build a conversion script
