I saw that too, when I was trying it on seditio.
But the installation is not the only thing that will go wrong...

$db_x is not known, cotonti functions are used (Not in seditio).. and more so I stopped trying because it is a lot off work.

Nope it does not work on seditio, there are to many Cotonti things in there.

Most things made for Cotonti will not work on Seditio.

You need to unzip de files in the ZIP-file in the root.
So ezchatpoll.php will be in the root.
Other files will go automatically in /plugin/ezchat

I am still working on the secure room, originally I made it so, that only members can use this, but now i will make this optional. So guests kan also join a secure room (just a password is needed).
Still got other ideas, but I will do that later.. I have loads off work.

Anyway gofgo, just let me know when you want to test...

It was a lot off work for me to make this app, but one off the main things is that I have learned a great deal on this project (Cotonti,Ajax,JSON,and the use off Java applets... and so on)

A polish language pack would be nice...
schulle4u made an German Pack, so I will include this in the package.

I do not like flash that much, and java is also (becoming) accepted as a way to do things on the web, so I experimented with this small java applet for the sound.
I must say it was easy to implement, and it was very small, and that was also a factor I looked at.

Some news on my EZChat plugin. I HAVE A NEW VERSION 3.0.
I will call this one EZChat PRO, because it is so much better than the opensource, free, version I posted.

It now has a integrated shoutbox on the homepage. The shoutbox can be configured with some nice usefull settings like # msg to show, refreshtime, title and more....

EZChat has now got secure rooms, so password protected chat rooms

The number off ppl online on the index is now dynamic (it refreshes).

As a guest you must fill in a name now before you can chat in a room.

In the chatroom all the names from the people there are available.

There are (for admins) possibilities to block a chatter (one click).

I will make a good description off the complete plugin later on, this new plugin is tested and in production. If you are interested just PM me.

It is a vey nice plugin to make technically speaking, and combining chatting with shoutbox worked out fine,

Testers for my RC wanted..

I had a quick look.... I am using the 'standard' function from Cotonti to do this.
It is located in base.js

SO you must have this behaviour in Cotonti as well....

Now you can see how many ppl are watching the chat... (on index, and per room in the ezchat screen)
And Guests can even input an alias name.

So it is almost done ! (some more testing.. and tweaking..)

Ez, if you enter a smiley, the cursor is standing before the smiley.
So if you click on all smileys the appear in reversed order.

It has separate tpl's and css (small), so you can do with it what you want :P.

What it still needs is an aliasname input box when you are a guest...

Just finished a plugin called EZChat..

It is a lightweight (performance optimized!) plugin for chatting.
It uses chatrooms

You can go there and test it yourself... tell me what you think off it.
This has been a lot off work for me.

Tech talk:
Ajax, JSON, it is hammer proof.
A lot off processing is done on the client side (javascript), this to minimalize performance
on the server side .
