No, it wont be that difficult.

One of the more hard things was that we needed to move the DB encoding over to UTF8 which gets really hard for special character languages.

For the moment the upgrades should be exactly the same as were on Seditio - upload files, run sql for upgrade.

Thanks guys for the answers.
Indeed the whole issue was with the fact in my admin panel it was still pointing to a wrong coding.
I have re-done the entire updating process, again following those excellent tutorial videos and now it works, my test site has been upgraded to Cotonti.

Now all I need is to fix my skin and any plugins to work with Cotonti.

Just one small question to add here.
In the future, when more updates are released and Cotonti being brought out of beta, will it be as "patchable" as Seditio was? I mean my site is really getting big and still growing every week (around 2mln+ hits a day at the moment) and as this is still a beta I need further upgrading in the future.
If its just a matter of updating sql and updating CMS files every time I don't think I will be in trouble right, it wont be as "difficult" as upgrading from Seditio?
Just asking, no offence meant but I cant close my whole site every now and than and change the skin etc.

But, its great to at least now having made the start to become part of Cotonti

Basicaly what you could do is just add this column in phpmyadmin, but if you missed that bit you probably missed a lot of other changes so suggest you rerun the upgrading part.

page_html was added in 0.0.1. Make sure you're running patches from the latest 0.0.4 package. And most probably you will need UTF-8 because we focus on this encoding mostly.

I upgraded from seditio 12x to 125 by starting this file "mydomain/upgrade-seditio12x-to-seditio125.php". All steps were succesfull it told me in nice green letters.

[edit]
After some more new database imports (I just imported my parts again) I got a step futher. Now I get this error:
Warning: mb_internal_encoding() [function.mb-internal-encoding]: Unknown encoding "windows-1250" in /home/armaholi/public_html/testers/armaholictest/system/common.php on line 44

I did try to create a mutiple language site a while back and guess it can not read that encoding. Will have to go back to the beginning to reset to utf8 too in the admin panel I guess :(
Ahh well, at least like this I will learn all steps from my head :)

I have started to work to update my website to Cotonti. At the moment I am updating my testsite first to see I can get everything to work. But I am stuck with a weird error.

I have followed all provided tutorial videos step by step (thanks for those, they are great) but now when I visit my test site I get this error:
2009-04-22 12:58
Fatal error : SQL error : Unknown column 'page_html' in 'field list'

I searched this site but it seems this error was never reported before? I have no idea what I did wrong and I hope its not a simple mistake which I am now overlooking.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

btw, look for yourself:
