Does anyone use this?
I've been using it since the launch of the plugin, but it does nothing and I have 2,079 trackbacks/pingbacks on my website, but none of them show in the {PAGEEDIT_FORM_TRACKBACK} in page.edit.

Would love for the trackbacks/pingbacks to show like this:

Trackbacks use xml and html post variables, pingbacks usually use xmlrpc, there are tons of differences (otherwise why would they call them different names?) but this is not the point.. But as for "ARIA", standards may have change, but the purpose stands same, gather data, share data.. data being documents, videos, whatever...

No, I don't know who can get this as a referrer system (I think the word "track" makes people think like this)

You don't even understand, imagine that I coded it :) (with several nervous breakdowns)

It works in a lot of ways, but mainly it is designed for blogs. Say you read something about Music/Classical and impressed by it, later you wrote something about Music/Classical and wanted that blog's readers to be informed about your article. You use trackback system to quote and link your article in the persons blog via comment system (this is also variable)

People understands WEB 2.0 as AJAX, fancy but actually the standards like trackbacks, pingbacks (...) are the real WEB 2.0 since 2.0 means finding useful information. We should focus more on these.. (BTW, as a person learned these terms concepts only a month ago, I look pretty confidential in my information)

I've read some wikipedia articles on this, but I still don't really get the point of it. I guess this will allow users to publish comments on your site through their own sites? Or is this just a counter for links to your articles? (Like referers?)

Hello,

I have been working on Trackback systems and try to understand it and examine it, about four or five days.

I will not explain what they are, I'll explain why I did this. I did it because it is something comes along (more truthfully, became popular) with Web 2.0 and Wordpress. It is a very good way of people getting maximum information, around the blog systems.

It is actually coded for blogs, so I have to say that, adapting Seditio/Cotonti was hard, more, I did not know about anything of Trackbacks before Lombi mentioned (*** Stuff our CMS bloody needs ***)

Even I had no idea, it would be easy if Seditio was a blog, or a little more elastic. But it wasn't, and it was about to drive me crazy...

I, right now do not feel happy at all of accomplishing a hard task (for me at least), I feel angry it took so long.

Anyway, I finished the plugin and uploaded to Cotonti. All you need to do is in config.php

$db_trackbacks = 'sed_trackbacks';

You can easily figure out what to do when you download the plugin.

I may not be happy but I am releived right now, so hope it will be useful for you. Feel free to develop it, I won't be around for a while, but I'll focus on Web 2.0 projects about Cotonti (xmlrpc, pingbacks vs) when I'm around.

Even though I checked more than once, I am sure there are bugs, I also plan to add new features (like auto discover and ping urls, close trackbacks) later.
