Hey. So basically we have three versions of the rewritten URLs working under cotonti. How many would be interested in having these distributed?

url type 1:

site.com/cateogry/
site.com/category/alias.html
site.com/forum/topic-t1.html

url type 2:
cateogry.site.com
cateogry.site.com/alias.html
forum.site.com/topic-t1.html

url type 3:
site.com/cateogry/
site.com/category/alias/
site.com/forum/topic-t1.html

They're all running on one file, and you change your URLs by a small setting in config.php

Any takers?

I'll go for option 3, it's the same way I've rewritten my Seditio URLs.

Another good option would be to have:
site.com/category/pageid/Title_of_the_page

This will do a lot for Search Engine Optimalisation.

Do you mean nested categories like site.com/cat1/cat2/alias or just site.com/cat2/alias? For the first case it requires some custom callback coding but the second case would take me 10 minutes to make an example urltrans.dat.

site.com/cat/alias and site.com/cat/id should be okay. site/com/cat/subcat/alias would be nice but it's not really necessary.
