Sorry for the late reply, been busy with other things again (new venture, going to use Sienna for it).
However, the "Anti-hammer" setting is not really working maybe cause google seems to like my site so much but even when setting the value at 100 it kep banning the googlebot resulting in alerts in my webmastertools. At the same time idiots with to much time were able to simply continue with their crap, so I disabled the shield as I dont want the google bot to not be able to crawl my pages.
Probably the only way around this is to lower the crawler speed but that is not recommended by google.
With some rewriterules in my htaccess file I am able to stop this crap good enough and they pretty much left my site alone since I was redirecting their requests to their own local server (see above) if present and otherwise.
