Well, with cotonti's sed-light skin in place, banners are somewhat difficult to intergrate(while keeping things visually appealing). To modify the skin, open the .TPL associated with the page you'd like to edit, in this case, it will be the "header.tpl" as it remains the same for all pages throughout.

Take a look at this image "sed-light/img/SED-Light_HD.png". This is the original banner, if your graphics savy, you can implement your websites name into it vs replacing with typical style banner. :)
