I've just tried it on a localhost and it works fine.
Make sure you have set the right permissions (chmod 0777) for the datas/ folders.
/datas/defaultav/
/datas/avatars/
/datas/photos/
/datas/signatures/
/datas/thumbs/
/datas/tmp/
