This screenshot is not layout problem. You have both CKEditor and markItUp running, so they are both enabled and conflict with each other.
HTML parsing is enabled by default globally. You can replace it with bbcode by installing bbcode plugin, but it acts globally as well. This is the choice to make, modern standards consider bbcode an obsolete technology. And <p> is an automatic paragraph wrapper in valid HTML. markItUp can work with both bbcode and html, CKEditor works with html only. As for the folders in datas/cache, they should be present in the package if you download it from http://www.cotonti.com/trunk.php May the Source be with you!
