I have edited the Latest Pages plugin (Siena) so that it doesn't interfere with the original (I think) and so it can use a different TPL file. This way you can have both running on your site.

You need to be using the PageAvatar for this to work. It then uses the Nivo Slider to display the images set to as many of the latest pages you wish to display.
