this plugin was original some link tracker i used myself but i rebuilded it because i needed it to work with twitter as well. you can use it as a link shortener as well and i thought it be more regocknisable with that sort of name. it was orinial used to track partner banners and click rates.

You can use all of the code as you want. i may clean my up a bit and submit it in the plug-repo.

Actually I don't think having super-short urls is the most important thing here, being able to track incoming/outgoing visitors is much more interesting.
