Plugin Tag in Menu Slot

Contributors	On the website im developing, I have {PHP.cfg.menu2} setup with html code for a sidebar, with a search box, quick links, etc. So on every page I'd like to have a side sidebar, I add {PHP.cfg.menu2} into the TPL. What I'd like to do is add the mini calendar onto this side bar, so I need {PLUGIN_CALENDAR} to get recognized as a tag within {PHP.cfg.menu2} , where I have my sidebar html. Does this make sense?
