See: common.php and some more places which indicate that IPv4 notation only is being used.

see: http://php.net/manual/en/function.inet-pton.php

I think both version should get a fix to support IPv6 ?

I did that on git :) #1089

Some persons will click further on github.... and will notice that i have a cotonti spinoff on github  ( Work in progress ).

Reason:
I think Siena is going in a direction i dont like.. it is becoming to bloated with a lot off code.
I really want a lean and simple system, so i took Genoa as a base and I am removing a lot off stuff I dont need for my own purposes.
So I removed stuff like: ratings, forums, polls, comments, pfs (which will be a plug)... and a lot more

I'm a bit disappointed that it is not compatible with the old Genoa installations. If it was compatible, we would move Genoa support and further development to your fork.

May the Source be with you!

I am sorry that it is not completely compatible.

But we really didnt need all that stuff, so taking it out to make a lean system was for us the logical thing.
A lot off the structure is still intact, so old plugins can be easily transformed to work, so thats good.
Also some functionality will return as a complete plugin, and not integrated into the core.

Anyway... it will be a fast and lean system.
